Kõue Manor – Where Centuries Come Alive

There are places where time does not stand still, but layers itself into something extraordinary. Kõue Manor is one of those rare estates – a setting where history, nature, art and architecture have merged into a remarkable and emotionally powerful whole. Behind its dignified and seemingly modest exterior lies a bold, colourful and deeply expressive interior world, rich in stories and possibilities.

First mentioned in the mid-13th century, with archaeological findings tracing the area back to the Viking Age, Kõue Manor is one of Estonia’s oldest estates. Throughout history it has been home to a number of notable figures, among them the world-renowned explorer Otto von Kotzebue. Each era and each owner has left a distinctive mark. Today, there is a unique opportunity to add a new chapter to this remarkable legacy.

ESTATE AND LAND

The manor complex is set on approximately 18 hectares of land, of which around 9 hectares are forest. The ensemble includes the baroque main house, a working horse stable, a stable-carriage house, a garden pavilion, a boiler house, a steward’s house and a granary building. The latter two await renovation, offering significant development potential for a future owner.

The restored buildings have been brought back to their historical splendour while being equipped with modern technical systems, allowing the entire estate to function efficiently and comfortably by contemporary standards.

THE MAIN HOUSE

The main residence, spanning three principal floors with a total area of 1 449 m², forms the heart of the estate. It houses eleven uniquely designed guest rooms, each with its own character and narrative. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated, and each room enjoys enchanting views over the manor park or the surrounding forest landscape.

Within the main building there is also a grand ballroom accommodating up to 120 guests, a separate restaurant area with a professional and fully equipped kitchen, a wine cellar and a library. Numerous rooms of varying size and atmosphere provide ideal settings for private meetings, intimate gatherings or distinguished receptions. Nothing in this house is accidental – every object, texture and artwork has been carefully selected to create a cohesive and luxurious yet deeply personal environment.

STABLE-CARRIAGE HOUSE AND ADDITIONAL BUILDINGS

Facing the manor’s front courtyard stands the fully restored stable-carriage house of approximately 585 m², offering nine distinctive guest rooms. Each room features a glazed balcony overlooking a private courtyard framed by forest views. The building also includes a small indoor pool, a sauna and two additional spaces suitable for smaller events, retreats or private functions.

Beside the pond in the manor garden stands a charming garden pavilion, ideal for summer receptions and celebrations. The estate also includes a renovated stable building, currently used for summer concerts and performances, accommodating approximately 250 guests.

The steward’s house and granary remain to be renovated,
